Welcome to CSC
YOUR FIRST DAY
Your coach will welcome you to the gym when you arrive at your scheduled time. On day one, we'll start teaching you our foundational movements -- the squat, bench press, kettlebell swing, Turkish get-up, deadlift, and a few others. Most people can pick up all the lifts in two or three sessions. Some will acclimate a little faster and some a little more slowly, but everyone we work with learns these movements or appropriate modifications we introduce based on your individual mobility in just a few sessions.
From there, we'll establish your strength and conditioning baseline so that we can begin planning your programming to elicit the physical adaptations necessary for progress. You can expect each session to gradually build on the prior as you begin getting stronger and in better shape.
What to wear:
-
Stretchy shorts or pants that don't impede your range of motion
-
Cotton t-shirt
-
Hard-soled shoes -- Converse or Vans are good choices. Running shoes are not.
What to bring:
-
Water bottle
-
Hand towel
-
Small notebook and pen -- Your coach will show you a simple notation system for tracking progress. We're old school and encourage clients not to use their phones to track workouts so that they can focus on their training without the potential distractions these devices present.
